Tristan Breaux

Tristan R. Breaux is a political leader with more than fifteen years of experience in local, state and federal government. His work spans community advocacy, political campaign strategy, legislative policy development and corporate government affairs.

Tristan started his career as an aide to former Chairman of the House Budget Committee, Rep. John Spratt (D-SC). He served as Chief of Staff to Virginia Beach City Councilman Prescott Sherrod, a legislative aide to United States Senator Kay Hagan, Deputy Chief of Staff & District Director to Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and Legislative Director to former Congressman Joe Cunningham. He served as Vice President of Policy & Advocacy for the National Housing Conference, worked as a multi-client lobbyist and currently serves as the Director of Federal Affairs for Tyson Foods, the world’s second-largest processor and marketer of poultry and protein. In service, Tristan sits on the Board of Directors for the Norfolk State University Foundation and the Corporate Advisory Council for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.. He also represents Tyson Foods as a member of the Corporate Leadership Council for the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Tristan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Norfolk State University and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Liberty University. He is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated and a member of its National Political Awareness Committee. He lives in Kettering, Maryland with his wife Akilah and children.
