We’re Starting 2024 with a Victory!

Tameika Isaac Devine, State Senate, SC

Congratulations to Tameika Isaac Devine, Newly Elected SC District 19 State Senator

Tameika Isaac Devine is a wife, mom, attorney and dedicated public servant. Growing up in a family dedicated to public service, she’s made it her life’s work to protect people, neighborhoods and our rights.

As an Assistant Attorney General for South Carolina Tameika fought for women and the most vulnerable victims of domestic violence, crafting legislation and changing laws to protect their rights to justice and safety.

In 2002, Tameika was the first African-American female elected to City Council and the first African-American elected at-large. She was the first council member to tackle the problems of gangs and preventing youth violence. Known by her council colleagues and city staff as the “project” council person, she’s passionate about empowering citizens to succeed, and quick to roll up her sleeves to implement projects and programs to support those goals.

She is now the Democratic nominee for the SC State Senate District 19 and is dedicated to being a fierce advocate at the SC Statehouse for the needs of our community.

Tameika is married to Jamie L. Devine, a member of the Richland One Board of School Commissioners, and they are the parents of Tamia, Jade, and Jameson. Their son, James Henry, was born into heaven in August 2014.
