Nigel Stephens has more than 25 years of experience in legislation and public policy, government relations, and public affairs. He has worked in the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, on political campaigns, and in the private sector to drive initiatives around innovation and IT modernization, small business and entrepreneurship, minority business development, modernizing government, and economic development.

Prior to launching Phoenix Strategies, Nigel led two government affairs offices for IT service and software providers with a significant footprint in the public sector. He has served in both chambers of Congress as chief of staff for Rep. Yvette D. Clarke (NY), professional staff on the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and legislative assistant for Rep. Albert R. Wynn (MD).

Leveraging his political strategy and advocacy experience in his community, Nigel currently serves on the Corporate Advisory Council for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) and on numerous boards of directors, including the Washington Government Relations Group (WGRG), Anacostia Watershed Society, Epsilon Phi Boule Foundation, and the Boule1904 PAC. Nigel Stephens is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.

Nigel is an alumnus of Towson University (BA), the graduate School of Political Management at The George Washington University (MA), and the University of Maryland Global Campus (MBA). He a proud husband to Natasha and father of three.
