The Jones Group

Gregory Jones is president and CEO of The Jones Group, one of the Southeast’s premier strategic consulting firms. With more than 25 years of leadership experience in government affairs, business development, and political advocacy, Gregory and his team advise top corporate, nonprofit, and political professionals at the local, national, and international levels.

Gregory previously served as the top governmental affairs leader for the Alabama State Employees Association, a member-driven organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the needs of Alabama’s 30,000 state employees. In this role, he cultivated relationships and influence in state government, leading to the formation of The Jones Group in 2005 with just five clients. In the years since its inception, the firm has helped more than 50 corporate, nonprofit, and governmental entities navigate the legislative, policy, and regulatory landmines of Alabama politics and beyond. Its clients include local governments, historically Black colleges and universities, nonprofit organizations, international technology and pharmaceutical companies, and many more.

The Jones Group team has grown to include four registered lobbyists, an in-house attorney, an operations manager, and a host of consulting professionals. Consistently ranked among the top five government relations and strategy firms in Alabama, the company has a growing presence on the national and international political scene. The Jones Group’s rolodex is a “who’s who” of national business leaders, elected officials, and agency heads who rely on Gregory and his team for their keen business sense and political acumen.

A native of Meridian, Mississippi, Gregory is a graduate of Arkansas State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and was a starting member of the football team. He is the co-founder and board chair of the National Black Professional Lobbyists Association, which boasts more than 120 members from 19 different states. He also serves on the Grambling State University Foundation Board of Directors. Gregory is an active member of The American League of Lobbyists, the Corporate Roundtable of National Black Caucus of State Legislators, and the American Council of Association Executives
