- State Representative: Elected at 27, focused on issues affecting working people.
- Lieutenant Governor: Served as Wisconsin’s first Black Lt. Governor, co-governed with Tony Evers, and chaired the Governor’s Task Force on Climate Change.
- Healthcare Advocate: Toured the state to boost enrollment and education for healthcare access (Badgercare).
- Voter Engagement Leader: Served as President of Power to the Polls Wisconsin, helping achieve high voter turnout in Milwaukee.
- Clean Energy Advocate: Founded Forward Together Wisconsin, focusing on lowering energy costs and promoting clean energy.
Candidate’s platform
- Close tax loopholes for the ultra-rich, cut taxes for middle class families.
- Stop playing political games with health care, and use Federal money to expand access to care and reduce health care costs for all.
- Make Roe v. Wade the law of the land, ending Wisconsin’s 1849 abortion ban.
- Ensure law enforcement has the resources they need to keep communities safe.
- Stand up for farmers, and fight back against Trump’s tariff disaster.
- Bring more good paying jobs back to Wisconsin.
- Increase funding for public schools so that every child, no matter their ZIP code, has a chance for a world-class education.
- Expand apprenticeship programs and trade schools to ensure that when companies invest in Wisconsin, they’re employing Wisconsinites.
- Go after out-of-state hedge funds buying up private homes and making it harder to afford a home.
- Make childcare more affordable and accessible.
- Increase state funding for the UW system, currently ranked 44th for state funding.
- Restore collective bargaining rights.
- Raise the minimum wage.
- Pass red flag laws, universal background checks, and an assault weapon ban.
